My First Day of Highschool!

My first day started out well because my bus stop is in front of my house! It came at 6:49 and I was really excited (actually more nervous then excited). I climbed the stairs of the bus, anxious to start my first day of high school. The ride there was quick and we arrived at school around 6:55. It is comforting to know that my locker is at the very end of D hall. I can just put my lunch and my belongings into my locker, and the school day has officially started! I thought my day was going great, that is, until I got hungry.

Second hour is art. When I reached room G16, I remembered that I had only eaten half a blueberry pop tart for breakfast. I immediately regretted this. I should have listened to my mom when she told me that I should eat a better breakfast. I was incredibly hungry. While attendance was being taken, the room was super quiet. “Grrrrrrr!” My stomach was growling and it was loud! I looked around hoping no one heard. Luckily, only my friends were giggling at the sound of my rumbling tummy! Embarrassed, I silently hoped it would stop. Unfortunately, it kept making noise!

During third hour, my stomach was overly obnoxious. Then I remembered I had some gum in my purse. I eagerly unwrapped a piece and popped it in my mouth. Much better, I thought and I somehow made it to fourth hour. I couldn't wait until lunch. When the bell for B lunch rang, Olivia and I ran to my locker, grabbed my lunch and quickly walked to the north cafeteria. Oh my goodness, I hadn't realized the hallways at lunch time are as crowded as Parisians 80% off sale! There were people everywhere!

When I made it to the cafeteria, I didn't recognize any of the people as my friends. Hmmm, I thought as my eyes darted around the overly crowded lunch room. I wondered, who should I sit by? Luckily I saw my friend Kelsey, who is a junior. Olivia and I decided to sit with Kelsey and her friends. We ended up having a great time! We talked about our day and gossiped about our teachers. It was a blast! By the time lunch was over I had a lot of laughs, and the best part, my stomach was no longer growling!

As I rode the bus home, I thought of my first day. Apart from being really hungry, and a few other challenges, I think the day was a success! Tomorrow, I thought, I will definitely eat a full breakfast. Laughing to myself, I walked off the bus that had driven me to school just 7 hours before. Based on how my first day went, I think I will have a great year at school.

A Typical School Day: Bridget Style!

My day starts at 5:30. My alarm rings and I immediately shut it off because I hate the sound. I hop out of bed and run to the bathroom and decide how to wear my hair. If I’m in a rush, a ponytail works best for me, but otherwise, I normally just leave it naturally curly or occasionally straighten it.The next step is make-up! Depending how I feel I apply different amounts of makeup. Sometimes, I just want to get the whole process over so I just put on eyeliner and a few strokes of mascara but usually I feel patient and use more different kinds (today, I was patient). After my makeup is done, I choose my outfit, and accessories and shoes to match. Planning my outfit helps decide my day. If I wear a really cute outfit I feel more confident!

Next, I go down stairs pour myself a bowl of cereal and then go on Facebook for about fifteen minutes, just to check what’s happening. After Facebook,I normally will check the weather online so I know if I need a coat or not. So it’s around 6:30, and it’s time to add final touches. I brush my teeth then apply lip gloss and pop some mint gum in my mouth, and I'm ready to go.At 6:45 I go out side and wait for the bus. I sit with my friend Laura and we just talk and it makes the ride go really fast. When we get to school, Laura comes with me to my locker and I put my stuff away. After this, I normally find Sam. We walk around school and talk to all of our friends until the bell rings, then we go our separate ways.

First hour is Spanish 2, during first hour I usually feel like I'm going to fall back asleep but somehow, Profe Wylie keeps me awake. After Spanish, it's time for art, global ed. History and global ed. English then lunch. Lunch is one of my favorite parts of the day. I sit with Olivia, Erin, Ally and Rachel. We eat in the crowded north cafeteria, but sometimes, we get stuck eating on a bench since there is not enough room at the tables. After lunch, I run back to English then finish off my day with Biology and Geometry-my least favorite classes. When the 2:19 bell rings, I scramble to my locker and then rush to the bus and take my spot next to Laura. We talk about how each of our days went and how much homework we have. I get home around 2:40 and have a snack then do my homework. This is my real life daily routine that might sound exciting but nah, not really!
